Noninvasive Detection of Coronary Artery Disease Based on Heart Sounds
نویسندگان
چکیده
In this study, four channels' heart sounds of normal persons and patients with coronary artery disease (CAD) were detected by a highly sensitive sound sensors array placed on special positions of body's thorax, the acquired signals were analyzed using wavelet transform and neural networks. Wavelet transform is a highly applicable method to separate the complicated heart sounds into various frequency segments and can also give time localization of the event in the cardiac cycle. Each and every channe1"s four average power ratios of whole cycle's heart sound to diastolic period's heart sound at four fiequency segments based on WT coefficients were calculated. The sixteen power ratios of four channels composed into sixteen parameters' input pattern of radial basis function (RBF) neural networks. After training, the neural networks can diagnose the CAD automatically.

Myocardial perfusion scan accuracy in detection of coronary artery disease - Comparison with exercise stress test [Persian]
Introduction: In patients with coronary artery disease (CAD) noninvasive evaluation for detection of ischemia is important to avoid invasive interventions like angiography. Exercise stress test is conventionally the first study used in evaluation of CAD. Considering the noninvasive nature of the myocardial perfusion scan, we decided to compare its accuracy with stress test. Methods: Patie...
متن کاملThe Effect of Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction on Anxiety and Stress in Patients with Coronary Heart Disease after Coronary Artery Bypass Graft Surgery: A Single-Subject Study
Background and objectives: Coronary artery disease (CAD) is associated with negative emotions of anger and stress, which are one of the nonclinical risk factors of the disease. Therefore, evaluation of the effective therapeutic models alleviating the patients’ negative emotions is of paramount importance. This study aimed to examine the effect of mindfulness-based stress reduction (MBSR) on ang...
متن کاملCoronary Artery Disease Identification Using Acoustic Features Based on QDA
Optimizing risk assessment may reduce use of advanced diagnostic testing in patients with symptoms suggestive of stable coronary artery disease (CAD). Detection of diastolic murmurs from post-stenotic coronary turbulence with an acoustic sensor placed on the chest wall can serve as an easy, safe, and low-cost supplement to assist in the diagnosis of CAD. Coronary artery disease (CAD) accounts f...
متن کاملDiagnosis of Coronary Artery Disease via a Novel Fuzzy Expert System Optimized by Cuckoo Search
In this paper, we propose a novel fuzzy expert system for detection of Coronary Artery Disease, using cuckoo search algorithm. This system includes three phases: firstly, at the stage of fuzzy system design, a decision tree is used to extract if-then rules which provide the crisp rules required for Coronary Artery Disease detection. Secondly, the fuzzy system is formed by setting the intervals ...
متن کاملNonlinear Analysis of Diastolic Heart Sounds Based on EMD and Correlation Dimension
Recent studies have applied nonlinear analysis methods for heart sounds to diagnose coronary artery disease (CAD). Coronary artery occlusion may cause diastolic heart murmurs, so analysis of diastolic heart murmurs has important significance to noninvasive diagnosis of CAD. Heart sound signal is typical nonlinear and non-stationary time series, nonlinear analysis method correlation dimension ca...
